UpCart Shipping Update - They are finally coming!
almost 7 years ago – Tue, Jun 11, 2019 at 11:37:39 PM

Hello Backers,

The entire Team at UpCart want to express our sincere apology for the delays getting the replacement UpCarts out to all our backers. We made a commitment to replace 100% of the carts that were sent out to our backers, and we are very happy to be able to honor that commitment... finally.

We have experienced many delays that we could not have anticipated but have stayed diligent and finally put the carts 'on the water'. They are heading to the USA!!

We are happy report that the UpCarts did leave the factory and will be arriving in Long Beach, CA on June 20. It typically takes about 10 days to clear customs and arrive at our warehouse in Columbus, OH. We will have your orders shipped right away. We should have all orders shipped out the first week of July. You will receive an email confirmation with shipping tracking number as soon as your order ships out.

We are going to try and have the backer surveys re-sent within the next week. As a significant amount of time has passed since the first shipment, we want to make sure and reconfirm shipping address for the orders.

Please do complete your survey even if nothing has changed. We need a response so we can confirm the correct address before shipping.

Again, we sincerely apologize for this delay, and appreciate your support while we worked through the issues.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Great News!!

Hello Backers,

Thanks again for your patience as we worked through our manufacturing issues. I am very happy to report that we have approved all samples and have placed the order for replacement UpCarts! The replacement UpCarts will be ready to ship by end of April. Depending on ocean shipping schedules, we expect to get the carts on the water the first week of May and should arrive in our warehouse by early June.

We will get these turned around and shipped out right away.

I will send out additional communication once we get closer to shipping to re-confirm everyone's shipping address in case anything has changed.

Please know our entire team here at UpCart is very working hard to make this right and we are very excited to get these carts shipped back out to everyone.

We will be in touch soon,

-The Team at UpCart

Checking In - Status Update
about 7 years ago – Sun, Feb 10, 2019 at 09:02:30 PM

Hello Backers,

Thank you for your patience as we work through our issues. We are very close to a final resolution to issues. We have been making adjustments and testing thoroughly to ensure they meet quality standards. We are almost there, but our factory is shut down for the Lunar New Year holiday. When they return later this month, we hope to finalize the revisions and start production on the new and improved UpCarts.

A note on schedule. Assuming we go into production in March, it will take about 30 days to complete the new order (April). From there we have to ship the goods to the USA, that will take about another 35-40 days to arrive in our warehouse (May). Once we get the goods, we can turn around ship everything out pretty quickly. We are targeting a May delivery.

We will send out another update once we have confirmed we are going into production. And we will communicate with everyone in April/May to verify shipping address (to make sure nothing has changed).

We sincerely apologize for this delay and thank you all for your patience!

Sincerely,

-The Team at UpCart

Doing the right thing
over 7 years ago – Wed, Dec 05, 2018 at 05:14:29 PM

Hello Backers,

We have spent a lot of time over the past two weeks working with backers, evaluating feedback and testing product we have in our warehouse. We opened dozens of carts and put them through rigorous testing.

While many of the carts did not exhibit defects, we were not satisfied the overall quality of this production run. Our concern is that your UpCart City carts will not hold up to rigorous use over time.

We committed to a lifetime warranty and stand by that commitment. But instead of waiting to see if your carts will break or hold up, we have decided to replace 100% of the carts that were shipped out.

What does this mean? How will this work? Here is our plan:

  • 1) We have to adjust the design in a couple areas to ensure ease and more consistency in the assembly process (essentially, make it easier for the factory to assemble within tolerances)
  • 2) Once the changes have been made, we will have to produce a new batch of UpCarts
  • 3) Those carts will have to be shipped from the factory to our warehouse
  • 4) Once received, we will ship back out to everyone
  • PLEASE HOLD ONTO YOUR BAG - we will not be sending replacement bags out again
  • If your cart is working well, that's wonderful, please feel free to continue to use it!
  • If your cart is defective, you may discard it, we will not ask you to send it back to us.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and will do our best to get the replacement carts back out to everyone ASAP.

Thank you,

-MIke
